As part of a council review of its assets, Redland Library is one of seven now facing the threat of closure.
Local Liberal Democrat Councillors Christian Martin (pictured) and Simon Cook (both Clifton East Ward) are campaigning to keep the library open. They've been joined in their campaign by Cllr Anthony Negus and campaigner & council candidate Ian Townsend from neighbouring Cotham Ward, as well as Bristol West MP Stephen Williams.
If you would like to see Redland Library remain a community asset offering accessible lending services and a variety of additional facilities for the communities of Clifton East, Cotham and Redland to enjoy then please sign this petition:
We the undersigned call upon the Mayor and Bristol City Council to reconsider the current proposals for library closures to ensure that emphasis is placed on maintaining access to community libraries for residents, in particular with Redland Library at the heart of our community and the wider area as it is served by bus and rail. We also call upon the Mayor and Bristol City Council to incorporate into the consultation proposals all available options for shared use of libraries.
